Men's Roof is now Secure

Thank you Three Rivers Community Hospital Foundation for your gift of $2,000 that provided the yeoman's share of the $3,666 to replace the badly deteriorated roof at the Men's Residence, 8th & E streets.
Replacement meant that we had to remove the entire existing roofing. That also meant that we had to replace almost 2/3 rd of the existing plywood sheeting due to leakage and rotting. The we rolled all new felt - something that had been omitted from the old roofing and laid down new rolled roofing.
Result? Secure for several years from leaks - something that had become almost comedic in the old building. Buckets were the common feature during the winter months, something that the men will not have to undergo in the winter ahead.

Grand Re-Opening!

That's right. A grand re-opening event will be held on Monday, August 20, 2007 beginning at 1:30. We will be at the Community Recycling Site, 1010 SW Foundry. If you are able and want to enjoy a time of rejoicing - come on out. We'll have an opening prayer that will set the tone for our future, some meaningful remarks from community leaders and, in general, a time of rejoicing to the God who has brought such a blessing from such ashes. Please, come on by and visit with us ... and this is the time to bring all of the plastic #1, #2 and #4, the aluminum and other metals that you have been saving. What a day of rejoicing this will be!
