  • What a Trip!

  • Thank you! Barely describes how truly thankful I am for the wonderful way in which so many folks have joined together in making this work possible.
You have made it possible for us to care for, on average, 92 people each and every day of 2006. On average, 5800 meals were served each month. We saw another 4 people earn the GED's through our GED program; this is made possible through Rogue Community College as well as several volunteers. I had the privilege of teaching a 6-week, Bible based, Addictive Behavior series to, on daily average, 74 men and women. The balance of the year was spent in helping them to develop a Christian Worldview that sees sin and redemption and hope and joy and conviction and santification and ... all as possible.
2006 has been an absolutely awful year but yet a glorious year. We started the year with 8 Staff persons and finished with 5; 2 of the 3 members died! There have been many wonderful things occur during the year as well as many tragedies. Welcome to normal life at the Mission!
Your prayers and faithful financial support have made the work possible. If you have any question about what we are doing and how and why we do it please do contact me and I will certainly provide you with an answer.
How good to know that we live and have our being within the providence of a sovereign God who is good.

Christmas is usually a wonderful time of the year. Our faces break into a smile when we see the little children full of excitement and noise and laughter and smiles. But such is not the case for many of the adults with whom we work. The sentimentality of the season strikes deep into many souls and nothing is found in recent memory over which to smile and laugh.
Broken families. Forgotten children. Hidden scars. Violated bodies. Shameful men. Embarrassed women. All too often, these are the realities of Christmas with our folks. What a blessing it is to speak to them of the One who bears their guilt and shame. They can understand the reality of forgiveness. May the true meaning of Christmas be our full joy.
