  • Odds and Ends

  • Reid, our 15 year old grandson who lives with us, plays JV football for Grants Pass High School; in Oregon even though you homeschool - we do - they are still eligible to participate in athletics at the Public School. Last night, though leading 34 to 15 in the 3rd quarter they ended up losing 35 to 34! Ouch, but a good lesson on continuing until the end.
We are averaging 93 men, women and children living with us each day. That's a lot of food, counsel, and patience! How I thank God for the opportunity of teaching from God's Word Biblical truths and principles, on average, to 73 adults each day. I cannot imagine a better opportunity of the Lord to me.
The rebuilding of our Community Recycling Center is now officially underway. The $300,000 project should be completed by the end of March 2007. It provides good work experience for our residents as well as providing operating income for the Mission and a valued service to our community. God is good.
Are you up in the Seattle area? Carol and I will be there from Monday evening until Wednesday evening attending the Northwest FIRE Conference. I have the opportunity of speaking on the topic "Caring for the Poor and Homeless" on Tuesday morning. The Conference will be held at Juanita Community Church in Kirkland, WA.
May you continue to know His joy and peace in all that you do. Our Father is good!
